Welcome to the official website of the Korea Media and Communications Commission (KMCC).
The Korea Media and Communications Commission is newly established to guarantee freedom, public nature, and the public interest of media, as well as freedom of expression and users’ rights, to promote the balanced development of media and communications, and to foster a trustworthy information environment.
I feel a strong sense of responsibility as I begin the Commission’s first journey as its inaugural Chairperson at this critical juncture.
Today, the broadcasting, media, and communications industries face more challenges than opportunities. Therefore, I will spare no effort to enable the KMCC to build a competitive media ecosystem while restoring the public nature of media, which is a cornerstone of a democratic republic. In addition, I will strengthen user-protection measures to create a media landscape that meets public expectations.
With this commitment, I will endeavor to position the KMCC as a “public communication commission” that ensures a safe, open, and convenient communication environment for the people who hold media sovereignty.
