Title Green Communications Plan

Korea Communications Commission was held a general meeting and confirmed "Green Communications Promotion Plan" which includes using widely an energy-efficient equipment on April 8.

This plan implies 6 parts which include

· Converting into Green network
· Developing Green communications technology
· Activating Green communications service
· Creating Green job etc.

This plan shows 19 key priorities under the 6 parts. For example,

· Being tapeless through digitalizing the broadcasting system
· Recycling analog broadcasting equipment by supporting armies and educational institutions and changing to 3G using low energy
· Developing low-power communications equipment and setting up eco-friendly base stations and repeaters on public-private partnerships etc.

KCC intends to invest KRW 723 billion by 2012 to attain this plan.
